Emergency Light Testing

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires provision of emergency lighting, emergency routes and exits to be made available and routinely serviced. The provision must be of adequate intensity in the case of failure of normal lighting.

Emergency lighting is an essential part of any fire escape strategy plan to ensure the safe evacuation of persons from a building during low light conditions, the hours of darkness etc.

Emergency lighting testing is serviced in accordance with British Standard BS5266 part 1 and is required either quarterly, 6 monthly or annually depending upon the category of building that it is operating within.

Celtic Fire Security has its own qualified and dedicated emergency lighting testing team that can complete the required periodic testing to all types of systems and carry a selection of spares on board to enable them to rectify most defects during the service visit to minimise system down time.

A condition report and / or certificate of inspection is issued following the test.
